Hilts Education: University of Utah, Bachelor of Arts University of Oregon, School of Law, Juris Doctorate Licenses: Oregon State Bar Association, 2005 Background: During Ryan's undergraduate studies, he played collegiate baseball at Oregon State University and at the University of Utah. At Oregon State University he was on the Academic Honor Roll, and at the University of Utah he was twice awarded the Western Athletic Conference "Scholar Athlete Award" and "Academic All-Conference Athlete." After beginning law school at the University of Oregon, he was offered a contract to play professional baseball in Germany, which he did for two years. He then returned to Oregon, where he completed his law school studies. He took the Bar Examination in July 2005, and was admitted to practice in September.
